Raw denim is the name given to denim that has not been washed during the production process. It is rigid on the first wear, but over time the denim will fade and take on the characteristics of the wearer and his daily routine.

Wear typically occurs in areas that are subjected to the most stress, such as the knee, waistband and upper thigh, resulting in a change of colour, whiskering and folds.

Laundries often use these natural wear patterns as the basis for creating new washes.

The British brand Ben Sherman is turning 50 this year & to celebrate they published the book “50 Years of British Style Culture”. This book was made to tribute de evolution in de British Mens Fashion and the by music influenced subcultures in the past 50 years.

The book is written by Josh Sims, author of ‘Icons of Men’s Style’ and a freelancer for ‘The Times’, ‘Esquire’ and ‘The Independent’. The first chapter is dedicated to Ben Sherman.
